Moreland Homes™ offers four basic types of Earth-Integrated dwellings:

Frank Moreland, a Texas architect for more than 35 years, has designed a series of earth-bermed and earth-covered homes throughout Texas and served as contractor for their specially designed concrete structures for more than 20 years.

A former Professor, Mr. Moreland has published studies on earth-covered buildings for the National Science Foundation, the Department of Energy, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency, all of the United States of America. His work has been featured in newspapers, magazines and television.

Your architectural designer will be delighted to know that the bathrooms, kitchen, and utility room can be located anywhere, even after the concrete structure is finished. The structural engineer and contractor will find that he speaks their language.

is earth-bermed, usually 5 or 6 feet up three walls, with a very tough wood or steel structure superimposed for upper walls and roof.

Type III_HEAVY -

has 3 feet of earth on the roof, but minor berming against walls.

has 3 feet of earth on the roof sloped to berms against three walls.

has 7 feet of earth on the roof sloped to berms against three walls.
