There are four technical books, two books each for two actual dwellings by Frank Moreland. For each dwelling there is a book (Book One) regarding the size and configuration of the various materials and components of the concrete structure and its "skin", and a book (Book Two) regarding everything else except the final earth cover sculpting and utility lines beyond the tie-in locations. That is, Book Two always deals with the Exteriors (porches, roof caps and all exposed walls), Interiors (the usual, including built-ins), and Systems (plumbing, power, lighting, and HVAC for a hot to temperate arid climate), while BOOK ONE deals with the concrete structure and its "skin".
These books include copies of the actual construction documents for these dwellings, including details and specifications. No cost information is included. The level of completeness and clarity is unusual, for example, regarding Book One, the cut/bend sheets for the reinforcing steel are included, as are the instructions and labels of major products used, and the quantities of materials actually used (tons, pounds, cubic yards, gallons, square feet, lineal inches, feet, etc.), and even the time and crews required for construction, as well as production schedules.
These books reveal more about a building than can usually be found. Moreover, they bring the information together in a succinct and useful manner. These books are intended for serious readers, professionals and lay alike, and hopefully, they will serve as DNA for the furthering of the species.
